The social media web sitessuchasPinterest, Tumblr,notCY,Facebook,Flickr, and Twitter have evolved enough to become ones of the most flexible platforms for marketing and advertising.
Lately the marketers are very well familiar with all (or at least most ) of the social media monitoring tools that ease the long process of searching for various mentions of the brand name in the social media pages or specific keywords related with it.
However- the "listening" is even more important from a customer service perspective and sometimes missed by the business representatives.
As many of my customers complain-it is really annoying when a company has numerous social channels but isn't responsive on any of them. Same as many others I advertise and promote my services in few of the largest social networks,some of them mentioned above, but the disadvantage using them is that the number of the promoted items is sometimes quite aggressive. At some point the users get lost and start ignoring the countless flow of promotions or promoted items. The other disadvantage is the budget-most of these, considered best services aren't for free. In this case-using a new, or not very popular social network from a business side perspective, exist as an option and can be a better option for promotion or populating a business, especially for a "jump start".
I discovered few weeks ago an interesting social network , called Minds which I already recommended to a number of my clients because the opportunities for advertising there are countless and at the same time the business representatives canbuildastronger relationship with their customers.
The concept behind is different than the one used by Yelp, but you can see some similarities there.Being a friend with the consumers is I think the best case scenario, besides another greater advantage of this network is all the offered services and instruments are free to use, including the posting of your own Ads. For the users the way of promoting stuff is not annoying and the promotion of certain items is done by the network members themselves and amongst them, thus increasing the chances to be noted.
From a blogger's perspective for me the benefit is I can promote myself and my clients' products or services ,while at the same time I can interact with the other members (called customers) and share my points of view in different manners, which is in most of the cases a fun.
